[net.astro] where are the pictures of Uranus

jay@npois.UUCP (Anton Winteroak) (08/27/85)

Last January it was reported that Voyager II was now taking better pictures
of Uranus than any Earth based telescope ever had. Now, it is only 30% as
far away as it was then, and I still have yet to see a published photo
of Uranus from Voyager II. Can anybody direct me to a newspaper, magazine,
or journal that has printed such a picture?

Why is someone on Neptune so interested in Uranus? Shouldn't this have been
posted with an outer Solar system distribution so we didn't have to see this?
Seriously, my understanding is that they have some pictures which were under-
going some computer enhancement which, combined with the substantial lead time
of most periodicals, means another few weeks before we see anything published.
Also, the pictures keep getting better and better as we get closer and closer
so undoubtedly some magazine photo editor is saying, "Let's wait for the best."
Let's hope those people don't prevail.
