[net.astro] Orbital Elements

I'm trying to learn about orbits and such.  I have the Astronomical
Almanac but it isn't being of much help.  Could someone suggest a
good text on orbital elements and how to use them to compute
locations in space?  I'd like methods that are accurate for a number
of years, rather than just the current year.  Once I've learned about
them, then I need the actual elements.  Are the ones in the
Astronomical Almanac all I need?  If not, where do I find a good set?
