[net.misc] sailing partner needed for cruise

551rcg@hound.UUCP (R.GANNS) (12/14/84)

To all sailing enthusiasts: sailing partner needed for cruise.

Some friends and I are organizing a week-long bareboating
trip to the Virgin Islands for sometime in late February or
March (and possibly later, depending upon circumstances).

There will be a total of 4 of us, and we will get a sailboat
in the 30-35 foot range. The trip will start on a friday eve.
and run through a week from the following saturday.
I will make all of the arrangements except airline reservations,
unless everyone lives near Newark, NJ, in which case airline
reservations can also be made by me. The total cost for the
entire trip will be around 800 $ per person.

Anyone interested in joining us should be a nonsmoker,
not prone to seasickness, have some experience in sailboats
over 20 feet, and have a well-developed sense of humor.

Anyone who is interested should contact me either by phone
   (201) 949-0315 (AT&T CORNET 8-233-0315) (201) 389-2245 home.
Or, send me mail via ihnp4!hound!551rcg.

Please give me the following info:

           1. Name, addresss, phone.
           2. A list of dates Feb-April which are NOT acceptable
              to you.
           3. A resume of your sailing experience.
           4. A candid description of yourself in terms of what
you like to do, what you would expect of the others
in the group, strong dislikes, dietary preferences,
etc. This is to make sure that we don't wind up
with any serious personality conflicts. A 30 foot
sailboat can be a very small place to live for a
              week with 3 other people.

We will plan to visit as many of the VIs as comfortably
possible, doing a lot of sailing. We also plan on snorkeling
and some sight-seeing. We do not plan on much fancy dining-out
or night-clubbing (in fact, we probably won't do any).

Anyone interested should please respond A.S.A.P.

                                              -- Rich Ganns
