[net.tv.da] a pessimistic point of view...

gregorym@tektronix.UUCP (Gregory Muth) (12/01/83)

I have heard about all the *fantastic* ideas for solving the worlds'
nuclear threat as I can stand. We all know the only real solution is the
universal one. Let's face it. The human species took a wrong turn a long
time ago. We are self centered, arrogant pricks who preach concern for
our fellow man when 20 miles away somebody is starving and we aren't doing
a damn thing about it. We have have managed to poison the planet on which
we live, causing the extinction of a wide variety of species and while we
continue to preach concern and say "isn't that horrible..." we still aren't
doing anything meaningful to prevent it.
For the sake of the universe as a whole, why not fry the earth to a
crisp. If for no better reason than not to have to worry any more. If
we had faith in something other than ourselves or the false images we
create, we would see that it isn't a loss, merely a change.

PS: I do not necessarily think we should fry the earth, but thought a
different point of view might be a *refreshing* change of pace...
