I received two responses to my inquiry about the genealogies that were required in Germany during the Hitler era. They were required of all Germans to prove Arryan ancestry. They were called AhrenPass (Ancester Pass). Both respondents stated that the AhrenPass was in the hands of the individual involved. One respondent said that the individual was Austrian. What I would still like to know is, does the German government have copies of these documents? Are they accessible? Also, I believe Hitler felt that Austria should have been part of Germany so the requirement for the Austrians to generate these reports may have been a different case than for other conquered nations, such as Czechoslovakia. Any other comments appreciated. Thanks in advance! Bob Stekl ihnp4!ihuxn!rms
