I am looking for descendants of: James Wales (my great-great-grandfather); Mary Jane Deginsey (his wife); William Nankervis (my great-great-grandfather); Louisa J. Kitto (his wife). All four were born in England and settled in Grass Valley, Nevada County, California. James Wales was born in England about 1834 or 1837 (conflicting US census data). By 1870, he had moved to Grass Valley (where he worked as a miner) and had married Mary Jane Deginsey (born about 1846 in England). They had 10 children. James died sometime before 1910; Mary was still alive in 1910 in Grass Valley. William Nankervis was born in Penzance, Cornwall, England, on 10 February 1851, to William Nankervis and Elizabeth Johne. Louisa Kitto was born in Manchester, Lancaster, England, on 18 May 1855, to Sampson Scoble Kitto and Jane Frost. They were married in Grass Valley on 30 December 1872. They had at least 6 children. Louisa died sometime before 1910; William was still alive in 1910 in Grass Valley. William Albert Wales (son of James and Mary; born on or just before 8 January 1875) and Bessie M. Nankervis (daughter of William and Louisa; born 4 August 1874) were married on 14 March 1895 in Grass Valley. They had 3 children -- one of whom was my paternal grandfather.
