I'd like a pointer to Confederate Army records, shipping records into
SF in 1865/55, medical association records for California, particularly
the Bay area 1865 through 1875?, and railroad records for the trans
continental railroad until about 1875. Can you give me pointers on this?
My grat-grandfather, Martin Bellinger was born in Barnwell SC in 1833. He
was a surgeon in the Confederate Army. After the war was over, he decided
to come to California (I think to SF) by shup. He lived here, somewhere,
and did something (probably was a doctor) until after the railroad was
completed. He went back to Barnwell, etc... I have -NO- information
about what he did while in CA. Actually the etc... is not clear. He married
first my great-grandmother's sister, and then my great-grandmother, in
Barnwell, and was a physician there, until his death in 1898. --contact
Doug Faunt.
*** Missing Sloans ***
I have a lost Sloan in South Carolina. Can anyone help me with Thomas Sidney
Sloan who was bca 1801 maybe in Greenville County and who died in Hall Co GA
in 1876. He moved to Hall County around 1835. --contact Donna Warner.

You can leave messages here for these folks and I will relay them over to ROOTS
or send responses in mail to rooter at THE WELL.
