---- Can anyone translate this Catholic marriage record? I assume it is a marriage, anyway: Ego infrascriptus Omissis Quabis [or Duabis, I can't tell] denuntiationibus et mutuo contrahentium consensu habito, per verba de praesenti [ae dipthong] matrimonio conjunxi Cornelium McCue ex loco Hiberniae Filium Patritii et Catharinam McCue et Catharinam McLoglin ex loco Donegall in Hibernia Filiam Joannis [Loannis?] et Sheelia. Praesentibus testibus Patritio McCue et Marg[aret] Thorn Stocktonium[?]. in the margins it says: "Obtenta dis, in duabis proclamat" The marriage took place in Stockton, California on November 9, 1874. I know that the people involved are Cornelius McCue, from Ireland, and Catherine McLoughlin from Donegal, Ireland, with Patrick McCue and Margaret Thorn of Stockton as witnesses (I assume). But I'd like to know if any other information is hidden in the Latin. Vick Bennison ...decvax!decwrl!rhea!clt!bennison (603) 881-2156 P.S. I don't know if net.nlang is an appropriate place for this, so forgive me if it isn't. Please respond tdirect or to net.roots.
