Lately, there have been a number of articles with the first 1K or so bytes truncated. While some patterns have been evident, the problem seems to be scattered around the net. The links from csu-cs to hao to seismo are suspect, although other links are clearly also having problems. While I would like to urge the appropriate people to track down and clear up the problems, in the meantime, I suggest that people not post news articles beginning with white space on the first line. In other words, the first line of your article should begin in column 1, not indented with a space or tab. There are suggestions that only indented articles are munched on. By the way, this is the first articles that has been posted to net.announce in about a month. There really hasn't been any traffic on the group. Starting the first of November, I hope to have some monthly status messages posted to net.announce. Mark Horton
