vasoll@okstate.UUCP (Mark Vasoll) (03/10/85)
We have completed the posting of C-Kermit 4.2 to Usenet's net.sources and it has already left our system. Each of the 11 parts to the posting are less than 64K in size and are in "shar" archives to help them through the various hungry news eaters out there! Problems with the posting should be reported to one of the following addresses: UUCP: {cbosgd, ea, ihnp4, isucs1, mcvax, pesnta, uokvax}!okstate!uucp-support ARPA: uucp-support%okstate.csnet@csnet-relay.arpa Please note that due to several VERY loud pleas we will not be posting C-Kermit again for several months. I *hope* that people on Usenet will use common sense and follow our lead. Hopefully by the time we are ready to make the next posting, C-Kermit will have settled down and become a more stable piece of code! We have received many requests to send parts of the Kermit sources by electronic mail. We cannot honor these requests out of respect for our UUCP neighbor's telephone bills. We are also not set up to make tapes in any form of the distribution. Columbia University provides tapes and typeset copies of the documentation at a reasonable price and is quite good at this type of distribution. Of course the UUCP Kermit Distribution line will remain in operation as long as there is interest from the UUCP community or until the State of Oklahoma cuts our budget again... If people on UN*X systems want the "latest and greatest" version of *any* Kermit they are welcome to contact our system and UUCP it away.
