Among the major developments of our time, history will
record the expanding use of digital telecommunications networks
in bringing people with common interests together over vast
geographicial distances, in a way that was not previously
feasible.
Running parallel with these developments is the rapid
expansion of the ideal of "Sport for Life", highlighted by
the world's first MASTER'S GAMES to be held in August, 1985.

Never before has there been such an
international gathering of Masters Athletes
in one place at one time.
Toronto, Canada is the site of the first
Masters Games with 22 sports divided into age
categories for mature men and women.
The program has been created to promote
the ideal of Sport for Life and to combine
mass participation with the excitement of
world competition for sport enthusiasts.
The Masters Games are being run as an ongoing non-profit
public organization, with all proceeds forwarded to the
organization of subsequent Masters Games to be held every
four years in great cities around the world. Plans are also
underway for the first winter Masters Games.
Its not too late to enter this exciting event and become
part of sports history!
