[net.misc] Mensa and IQ tests

mcdonald@smu.UUCP (12/30/84)

Perhaps I missed it... Has anyone pointed out here that Mensa membership
is not necessarily based on IQ tests at all? They also accept top 2%
scores on SAT, ACT, and several others. Many Mensa members don't even
know their IQ scores.

And if the College Board exams don't measure _something_ useful,
an awful lot of organizations besides Mensa are in trouble.

>a lot of other organizations besides mensa are in trouble, too.

(I've paraphrased, only because I don't have the text handy.)

My reply is, "Yep, you're right. They ARE in trouble, too!"
