                         ACM SIGAda

Saratoga Springs, New York, 9-12 September 1986

The Future APSE workshop seeks to promote production-
quality advances in software support environments of the
future through technical interchange of researchers and
implementors of current environments. The scope of the
workshop includes, but is not limited to, the following
topics:

     What's the current state-of-the-art and state-of-
     practice of the APSE?

What lessons have been learned from the APSE?

What lessons have been learned from experience outside
     the Ada community?

What are the APSE's unresolved issues?

What are the APSE high-payoff research needs?

What interim goals and timetables should we establish
     for the environment technology community?

Workshop topics include: Experience with Existing
Environments, Environment Databases, Methodology and
Environment Relationships, Distributed Environments, User
Interfaces, Environment Issues in Software Reusability,
Environment Architectures, and Levels of Standardization.
Keynote speakers are from fields such as advanced databases
and non-Ada integrated environments providing additional
perspective on the state of critical technologies.

Prospective participants must submit a brief one-to-
three page position paper stating their current research or
development objective related to the scope of the future
APSE workshop. The position paper, due by June 15, will be
used to select participants and begin initial establishment
of the working groups. Please indicate additional working
group topics that you think will contribute to a successful
technical interchange. Space is limited to 100 participants.

Send position papers to either of the conference Co-chairs.
