The word "plied" shares the property of Steve Hayman's
9 reasonably common but Interesting Words of being composed
of 5 or more letters in reverse alphabetical order.
Whether or not this spoiling of the spoiler spoils Steve's
word puzzle, a related question may be of interest. (No, its
not about dangling clauses.) Does there exist a word of,
say, 5 or more letters in reverse alphabetical order which is
also a word when spelled backwards? The word "tog" is a
3-letter example. The word "lied" is a 4-letter example,
though "deil" is Scottish and hence not a common word.
I'll post one if I ever find one.
