Do farhenheit and centigrade have a temperature at which they are equivalent?

Certainly! They are always equivalent. What you are probably interested in
is the temperature at which they are equal. The conversion formula is:
(9/5)C + 32 = F
Let's say that the temperature at which they are equal is T.
(9/5)T + 32 = T
(9/5)T = T - 32
(4/5)T = -32
T = -40
so -40C is the same temperature as -40F.
