[net.puzzle] Good approximation for pi

ray@othervax.UUCP (08/06/84)

Thought there might be some general interest in the following approximation
for pi which always surprises me seems not to be widely known and certainly
not widely taught, considering it has mnemonic properties and gives pi correct
to (approx) 2.7*10**-7 :-

355/113 (easily remembered - 113355 split down the middle)

To get a better approximation you have to go to 8 digit numbers!

Please dont flame if you learned this at kindergarten!
