Here is a puzzle that I heard at lunch the other day: Mr. Webster and his three friends decide to go Bear hunting. They set out with all their equipment, camping gear, guns, compass, water, medicine etc. For three days they travel roughly in a Southerly direction for 50 miles. Their efforts are fruitless. So they decide to change direction and head West. This time they are lucky. After travelling a few miles in the Westerly direction they are accosted by a Bear which they promptly put to death. By then they are so exhausted that they decide to return home. They travel fifty miles in a northerly direction, when suddenly they notice that they are home!!!! What is the color of the Bear? asgb!vasudev PS: Solution next week

This is an old puzzle <Recap: Hunters travel 50 miles [sic] south, 50 miles west, shoot a bear, go 50 miles north, are home again. What color is the bear> slightly less well-known: Give MORE than one possible starting place. Digression: those hunters are REAL men! 150 miles a day in THAT landscape! -- Berry Kercheval Zehntel Inc. (ihnp4!zehntel!zinfandel!berry) (415)932-6900
