[net.puzzle] Triple play without the ball

How can you get someone out when you don't have the ball?
Being the batter and striking out doesn't count since you
can't be credited with a triple play that way. You have to be
one of the fielders.
How about if you are chasing a baserunner, (he thinks you have
the ball, but you really don't), and he passes the runner in front
of him? That's against the rules, but I don't know what the penalty
is. If the runner is automatically out, does the fielder who did the
chasing get credited with the out? If so then you could get a triple play
if you chased three runners past the runner at third.

 Not likely, huh?
