Earlier I posted a puzzle (which appears below along with its answer). Nobody sent in the right answer. If anyone posted the right answer on the net I probably missed it, because we have had no news feed in Minnesota for several weeks. > *** --- *** *** --- *** *** *** > | * * | * * * | | | * | * * * * > --- --- *** *** *** --- --- --- > | * | * | | * | | | | * | | | | > --- *** --- --- *** *** *** --- > > *** *** --- *** *** --- --- > * * | * | * * | * | | * | | > --- *** --- --- *** --- --- > | | | * * | * | | * | * | | > *** *** --- *** --- --- *** > > --- *** *** --- *** --- > * | | | * * | | * * | * > *** *** --- *** *** --- > | * * * | | * * | | | * > --- *** *** *** --- *** > > > The above represent LEDs. The *s indicate a lit segment. The answer > is a common English word. The secret is: take the "exclusive or" of each pair of side-by-side LEDs. The result appears below and between the pair. Do this with the last row and you get a new row with five LEDs which read: *** --- *** *** *** * | * * * * * * * | --- *** *** --- *** * | * * * * * * | * *** --- --- *** *** Read these as letters in the English alphabet and you get "chaos" which is the answer. -- /''`\ Andre Guirard ([]-[]) High Weasel \ x / speak no evil ihnp4!mmm!cipher `-'
