[net.misc] Did I really hear this?

I was listening to "The World Tonight", a current-affairs program on
BBC Radio Four, when I heard (I'm sure) a commentator describe the
current nastiness in Lebanon as "a potentially-explosive vaccuum".

Do WHAT?

This is a vacuum tube or crt. The explosion is called an implosion.
It really sucks.

Politics abhors a power vacuum. With Israel out of southern Lebanon
(declare victory and get the hell out) no one really knows for sure
who'll end up with the marbles. With all the militias armed to the
teeth there and no resolution to basic differences, the fighting will
go on.
