In the latest Unix review, a company in Pittsburgh called Tartan advertises that they have an M2 compiler for VAX, 16Ks, 68Ks, etc.. Does anyone know about this company or its compiler? Alex

Tartan Laboratories was started by William Wulf and others from Carnegie-Mellon's computer science department for the purpose of making the production quality compiler compiler (PQCC) project into a commercial reality. I doubt that any software house has greater expertise in compiler construction. I know nothing whatsoever about any of their products. William Clinger ...iuvax!willc
