...so I'm asking myself, what's all this fuss about Modula-2? So I'm reading the book "Programming in Modula-2" by N. Wirth. In chapter 13 I'm getting the advice: "4. We recommend to choose function identifiers which are nouns. The noun then denotes the function's result. Boolean functions are appropriately labelled by an adjective. In contrast, regular procedures should be designated by a verb describing their action." Reasonable, I'm thinking, let's see if he takes his own advice. What is the name of his most recent example at that point? "square". With that name, it can't lose! ___________________________________________________________ Matt University ARPA: crawford@anl-mcs.arpa Crawford of Chicago UUCP: ihnp4!oddjob!matt
