I purchased some equipment (a modem) from Gandalf Data Limited in December. They sad that there was a thirty day trial period, where I could return the equipment if I so desired. I experienced an error rate of approxi- mately 1%, and returned the equipment. This is after I mentioned that I had heard that there were problems with the modems, and they assured me that it was fixed in this model. After I insisted, they said that they would refund the purchase price but it would take two weeks (this was still in December). Last Thursday, They said that I would have the check by Friday. Now they are saying this Friday. The sales people are helpful, but seem powerless to assist. If I ever deal with Gandalf Data Limited again, I will not make payment on the equipment, until I am sure that it works. I recommend this course of action to others as well. Note, these opinions are my own, based on my person experiences with Gan- dalf. -- Jason P. Venner @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax,watmath}!utzoo!torcsl

I have had nothing but good experiences with Gandalf. I have a PACX SE, PIN 3270's, PIN 9101 (Datapac), LDS 120's, LDS 309's and other gear and have always found Gandalf to be extremely helpfull, responsive to problems, and quite willing to assist when required. I wouldn't judge Gandalf by one bad experience. Randy Dodge Memorial University ...utcsri!garfield!randy
