[net.lang.mod2] VS Modula-2 compilers

ian@loral.UUCP (Ian Kaplan) (08/24/84)

Before writing a previous article on Modula and the Volition Modula
compiler I called Volition Systems to talk to Rich Gleaves to make sure
that my facts were correct. I was amazed to find that Volition is now
involved in a stock holder fight and that many of the people who
founded the company and wrote the software have been forced to leave.
These people include Joel McCormack and Rich Gleaves. It appears that
the planned release of Volitions 68000 native compilers running under
CP/M 68K and the MacIntosh could be indefinitely delayed.

In the past Volition had excellant "hot-line" support; this support may
not be available any longer. Springer-Verlag publishes the Volition
compiler and is now probably the best source for the software.
