A colleague (not on the net) is planning to use Modula-2 on his VMS VAX. Can anyone recommend a good Modula-2 compiler for VAX VMS? (both as host and as target - though ability to target to standard 16-bit mocro's as well would be useful). "Good" means full language (including concurrency etc.), no or VERY few bugs, reasonably efficient code produced, clear documentation; in other words a 'production' quality compiler. UK support would be an advantage but not essential. Apologies in advance if there's been a recent item on this - I've only just started looking at the .mod2 group so I may have missed something. If anyone wants, and the replies are useful, I'll summarise back to the net.

There's one that is distributed by a University in Germany. We've had it on
order for quite a while (not their fault) and haven't received it yet.
From all accounts it's quite good. Address:
Professor Joachim W. Schmidt
Fachbereich Informatik, Universitaet Hamburg
Arbeitsbereich "Datenbanken und Informationssysteme"
Schlueterstrasse 70
D-2000 Hamburg 13
West Germany
Cost is $200 US.

Logitech, the folks who make the extremely good compiler for the
IBM PC, also make a VAX version. They're in Redwood City, CA, last
time I checked.

A: You don't have to shake the Mac to clear the screen.
