The DECWRL Modula-2 compiler, which runs on VAXes under 4.2BSD Unix, is still available to universities in the USA and Canada for a distribution fee of $100, subject to a non-disclosure license agreement. The distribution includes source (mostly Pascal and YACC). Approximately 100 sites currently have the compiler. The compiler is not a DEC product, and is not supported. The compiler is also available (to anyone anywhere) as part of Ultrix-32, DEC's 4.2BSD based Unix product, version 1.1 or later. Like most user-contributed software, it is not supported, nor is it sold separately. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the compiler, send me your US mail address and I'll send you the license and information. The "current" release of the compiler is the first one, which was distributed starting last summer. I am planning a new release, but cannot predict when it will be available. New features include dynamic arrays, multi-dimensional open arrays, and inline procedure expansion. An annoucement will be sent to netnews when it is ready. Michael L.
