It looks like the infamous line eater bug may be back.  Here's the
header from the file:

The news article file was 327 lines long, including the header;  the
header had 13 lines of text plus blanks after.  I trust all the
machines between ho95e and ulysses; probably the culprit was between 
decwrl and rochester?
