I like to use the call forwarding feature on my phone, but I always forget to turn it off and inevitably lose the first call of the day. I though of installing a lamp that I could switch on when I put on the forwarding. Better yet would be a circuit that would turn on when I activate call forwarding and turn off when I cancel it. Any suggestions? Thanks. Art Steinman Path..houxu!ahs

I don't know of any way to detect call-forwarding, unless you put a circuit on the line, that can convert the touchtone frequencies, and look for a 72# or 73#. Your best bet, if you have an auto-dial modem on your system, would be to have your system do the call-forwarding. If you don't want to bother hooking up a light to an output port (which is still easier than detecting the touchtone digits), then you could have your computer display some message in the status-line (if it has one). Another possibility is to have the computer do the call-forward setup and removal at programmed times, ie first thing on power-up, and at 5:30 or whenever. If all else fails, hang a big sign over your telephone: "CALL FORWARDING IN EFFECT!!". Sorry I couldn't be more help, but you do have my sympathy, I also make the same mistake, or worse, I leave the office without setting up call-forwarding. - Der "May the blessings of Jeyes Fluid fall upon you!"
