Meeting Announcement & Call for Papers
Modula-2 Users' Association
San Francisco Bay Area / mid-September 1986
The Modus semi-formal two day technical meeting in September 1985 (reported in
"Modus Quarterly" #4, November 1985) was sufficiently successful that requests
for a another meeting have become strident. Therefore, in mid-September 1986,
Modus will host its second annual meeting in the San Francisco Bay Area. The
exact date and location are being negotiated, but should be similar to last
year. There will be a mailing in June when details have been arranged.
Technical papers, discussion panels, and serious flames are solicited from the
Modula-2 community; you need not be a member of Modus. Topics might include:
language and library issues, exciting implementations, real world uses, and
the progress of standardization.
Please submit an abstract of your paper or presentation by July 15 so a good
schedule can be organized. If you need audio-visual equipment, please tell
us. If you wish your paper published in "Modus Quarterly," the Editor must
receive it by September 15th. It may be possible to arrange demonstration
space for novel non-commercial systems if it is negotiated well in advance.
Early September is thought to be convenient for those on holiday and for those
who must return to school in October. This worked out very well last year,
allowing significant international participation. Please tell your friendly
local Modulans, and plan to come even if you can not make a presentation.
