[net.lang.mod2] Modula-2 book

samlb@well.UUCP (Samuel B. Bassett) (07/31/86)

My literary agent informs me that he has a couple of pulbishers who are
looking for books on "Advanced Techniques and Applications in Modula-2", and
is urging me to come up with an outline and prospectus for such a book.
I am primarily a writer, and, while I understand Pascal and Modula
fairly well, I am no Modula maven. I'd like to ask you to help, by
answering the question:

If you were considering buying such a book, what would you like to see
in it?

All answers gleefully received and cheerfully credited.

Sorry the last message didn't get through. I'm interested in Modula 2, but
have little experience with it. While I'll think about it some more, at
first thought, the following come to mind:
1. Example programs that illustrate the use of some of M2's features.
2. Probably can't get away from comparing M2 to Ada and a lot of us would
buy the book just for that.
3. Survey of sources for M2, with some comparison data, such as bench-
mark tests, etc.

Good points -- I'll try to address them, even though I don't know that much
about Ada . . .
