********** I am contemplating making some wood framed casement and awning windows. Does anyone know the name and address (or phone no.) of suppliers of the crank type openers, sliding hinges, and cam locks? Has anyone else thought about making their own windows and have you found any good books on the subject? Commercial windows are $175 to $250 each and 16 are needed for my new house totalling about $3600.00. I have available a 10" table saw, 9" radial saw, 4" jointer, 4" bench belt sander, 2 routers, drill press, sabre saw and skill saw. With this equipment and a lax schedule (more time than money) it seems some money could be saved along with possibly increased quality and features. If you have any ideas to contribute please do so, also if you are interested in some of the decisions, features, discoveries that I have made or am considering please say so and I'll post it.
