[net.rec.wood] Removing black water marks

dag@tellab2.UUCP (Donald Graft) (02/18/85)

In his highly entertaining classic THE FURNITURE DOCTOR, George Grotz
recommends a saturate solution of oxalic acid crystals (obtainable from
a paint store or drugstore) for removal of black water stains. Refer to
the book for details because there are some importants caveats (such as
the fact that oxalic acid can be quite irritating if inhaled). However,
oxalic acid WILL efficiently remove these stains. I hope this helps the
poster of the article requesting help with such stains.
