Rockwell was pretty well known for quality machines. Towards the end, the quality control really slipped. Delta bought most of the stationary machines, while Porter Cable re-acquired the hand tools. Quality was still pretty poor with Porter Cable. About a year ago, the employees of Porter Cable bought the company. They realized that things had to improve, or the comany would go under. There has been a definite increase in the quality of Porter Cable tools. I have gathered this information from several local woodworking stores and local professional woodworkers. -- ---------------- Marty Sasaki net: sasaki@harvard.{arpa,uucp} Havard University Science Center phone: 617-495-1270 One Oxford Street Cambridge, MA 02138
