I have wood paneling in a bathroom that is probably now about 25 years old. Some panels are still looking rich and shiny, while years of moisture have caused others to develop a dull milky look. It seems that some must have been finished with something waterproof to begin with while others were unprotected. My question is whether anyone has any good suggestions for restoring the finish on the dull stuff. I have tried: polyurethane wax tung oil oil based stain "furniture refinisher" (toluene) All produce a nice rich glow when wet, but in hours to days re-develop that dull milky look, without any additional moisture. I have seen similar problems with water damaged furniture and never found a satisfactory solution. Anyone know something that really works? -- Warren Montgomery, ihesa!warren
