I recently got a pair of CTS 2424ADA modems on approval. These little beasties run 2400 baud (V.22bis protocol) over PSTN lines. For the past couple of days I've been dialing up from Brooklyn to Manhattan with no more trouble then with regular 212A data sets. I'd like to run some long-distance tests before I have to make up my mind if I am going to keep them or not. Does anybody with V.22bis dial-out capability want to try setting up a long distance uucp link on a temporary basis just to see how it works? I'm really curious to see if these work when they have to go though a few PBXs and then some motley assortment of long-distance carriers. Oh, BTW, these cost me $640 apiece. With competition like that, I expect to see 212A sets selling for $100 soon. -- allegra!phri!roy (Roy Smith) System Administrator, Public Health Research Institute
