[net.misc] Tell me I didn't hear this!!!!!

david@ukma.UUCP (David Herron, NPR Lover) (04/03/85)

Yesterday morning as I was waking up I think I heard the strangest announcement
on NPR's Morning Edition. It seemed that NPR had been bought by .....
what's his face, you know, that newspaper guy that bought the london times,
and people were afraid he was going to make it into a national enquirer.

....sheesh! can't remember his name.

At any rate..... They had some sample stories being prepared for that
evening's All Things Considered. I don't remember details. But I have
the feeling that is was like a S T R A N G E mixture of normal
All Things Considered and National Enquirer.

I apologize for being so unclear, but this was at some ungodly hour
like 7:00 am. And I wasn't really awake. So it didn't sink in too
well.

Could somebody please confirm this? Or was I just hearing things?

Think for a minute... What was "yesterday's" date?

Think about it, especially in terms of the date that it aired.
