[net.motss] A Serious Person

schoff@bbncca.ARPA (Martin Schoffstall) (11/09/83)

Let's be fair Steve, the flames are 50/50, right now. Maybe
the net should think about about having to groups:

net.for-motss's-only
net.motss.discuss

I don't think the limitations of what you want to be discussed
in this group is going to work. One thing that has to be faced
is the fact that the net decides what is discussed not a few
individuals even if it is a "good" idea.

Actually re: net.for-motss's-only and net.motss.discuss

It was tried with net.women and net.women.only, and <THEY>
(flamethrowers) still barge in!

There already is a place for religious discussions: net.religion.
I agree with hao!woods that I'm tired of hearing a bunch of straights
flaming. In my case, I am tired of hearing a bunch of straights flaming
about their religious objections to homosexuality and a bunch of people
flaming back at them. Net.motss *is* just another newsgroup. It deserves
neither the condescending USENET mavens trying to prove their broadmindedness
nor the condescending net.religion evangelizing where it's not wanted.

At least that's not what I fought for.
