Someone asked that 'straights' not clutter up this newsgroup with articles, but I'd like to give my opinion to Ms. Wolf's questions. I trust this doesn't offend anyone. 1) If a person is applying for a job, there is no reason I can think of why the employer would need to know the sexual preference of the pro- spective employee. (However, there *are* reasons why they might *like* to know if you're married or not; if you are female, many employers will tend not to want to hire you if you are recently married because you "might have a child and thus want a leave from work." I believe this is known as discrimination, though.) I can't see any reason whatsoever why you should have to tell an interviewer that you are gay, bi, hetero, whatever. 2) "Should the behavior of teachers in the classroom be such that it is possible for students to determine the sexual preference of their teacher?" - HUH? I'm not sure I understand this question. I don't think a teacher needs (or ought) to advertise his sexual preference ("Hi, I slept with my wife last night!" - yeah right - ) but I suppose that if the question came up there's no reason why the teacher shouldn't answer if he chooses. 3) I don't know. 4) Sex between an adult and a "child" (under 15 or around there) is, in my mind, seriously wrong. This is one question I'll admit I'm terribly prejudiced about; I can't even *consider* the other point of view. Sorry. To me, the child is in a position where he has clearly less power and authority and even when "consenting" (hah) it is equivalent to rape. (Grr). Arwen
