Well, by all means, then let's extend the right to vote, the right to
assemble, bear arms, and all that good stuff to our long-suffering
pets, too. Certainly, my dog is as as qualified to vote as my child.
Let's redesign our MacDonalds and Burger Kings for our four-legged friends.
And certainly, the human factors folks should get involved to bring the
full range of computing power to them.
That resolution was the shoddiest, shallowest attempt I've yet seen to
justify adult lust for children. If NAMBLA members cared one whit about
the safety and well-being of children, they could hardly recommend that
school become an optional activity, living quarters be run by peers,
and dirty old men be given free reign to overpower and seduce them.
What incredible gall to think that any intelligent person, straight or
gay, would not see through that!
Children have enough trouble trying to live their lives as children
without being forced to grow up and assume adult responsiblities before
they are ready. As if divorce, drugs, and alcoholism weren't bad enough
for them to live with and through, you want to force sex on them at any
age, too? And not just children discovering their bodies, you want them
to have and understand ADULT sex! You don't just give gay people a bad
name, you disgrace me as a human being.
