At the rally protesting the release of Dan White, Sister Boom-Boom (of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence) made a very sincere statement. I would like to excerpt part of it here... "The Book tells us, take of this and eat," Boom-Boom said while showing a cream Twinkie and eating it. "For this is my defense; and of this, ye shall receive not life, but 5 to 9, with time off for good behavior... "The Bible says that we should forgive this sinner, even for the most horrible, vicious, disgusting crime. But I am not stupid, somebody is going to kill Dan White, and when it happens, I will be back here to beg you for love, compassion and forgiveness. "Yesterday was the last day Dan While could spend knowing he would live through that day. Today Dan White begins a life sentence and I'm sorry to say I don't think it's going to be a long one. There are a lot of people out there who are extremely disturbed over our system of "justice" in this country. I hope that no one does anything stupid! -- peace and warm fuzzies.... jackw@sdglist
