Glad to see some recent comments about the Replacements; certainly one of the better "new" bands in the past couple of years. The Let It Be album is great - they've polished their sound a bit and still managed to preserve some of the rough edges. I also have the Hootenanny and Sorry Ma... albums - both are excellent, though not as easy to like (at least right away) as Let It Be. While we're talking Minneapolis music, another group that's been putting out great stuff for several years is the Suburbs. They do some very original music, with great keyboard and guitar work and interesting lyrics. Their last album (Love Is The Law) was released on Mercury records, but I hear they were dropped from the label, which is a shame since they've really worked hard for alot of years.
