I recently picked up a book, in all places, a north Dallas non-gay bookstore, called 'Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions', by Larry Mitchell with drawings from Ned Asta, '77. This books is not old, although I've never seen it. It is a story of a world where there are men, women, queers, faggots, fairies, queen, and a few others. This book is a collection of short 1 to 5 paragraph stories of the people of this world. This world, however, has a direct one to one and onto correspondence to this world, amazingly enough. It starts out describing the great cultures of the women and how they were destroyed by the men. The men were originally faggots, but a dis-ease befell them and they went mad destroying all that was good and beautiful and anything not of the men was worthy only of abuse. A sample: When things are loose, you can tell the faggots from the men. The men wear grey and the faggots wear all the other colors. When things are tight, the faggots hang all the colors in their closets and fade back to the greyness of the men, known only to each other and wait. (I realize that this is probably a breach of their copyright, sorry). This book has wonderful insight into how things really are and it lets us feel better about ourselves. (I felt better anyway). And it will make you laugh. The publisher is: Calamus Books, P.O. Box 689, Cooper Station, NY NY 10003. Do get it and Enjoy, you will. Cal Thixton ...ctvax!uokvax!emtj ...sun!tj
