John, no one will disagree with your main point this time, but I think you're having semantic fun exaggerating the amount of "bellyaching" which goes on here. I find attention to reality isn't "bellyaching", and if you think it is, you are reading more into the postings here than I have. In order to get things done in this world, you have to work FOR goals you want, and at the same time work to change situations which are barriers to those goals. None of this "positive"/"negative" stuff-- I find this simply isn't a useful distinction. It is USEFUL to know that discrimination exists, it is USEFUL to know where it exists, and it is USEFUL to come up with plans which attempt to reduce this, and hence increase the quality of life for all people. Which is not to say that this is the end-all and be-all of gay life. Your other topics are worth discussing, too.
