[net.motss] bellyaching

dyer@wivax.UUCP (Stephen Dyer) (06/08/84)

John, no one will disagree with your main point this time, but I think
you're having semantic fun exaggerating the amount of "bellyaching" which
goes on here. I find attention to reality isn't "bellyaching", and if you
think it is, you are reading more into the postings here than I have.

In order to get things done in this world, you have to work FOR goals
you want, and at the same time work to change situations which are
barriers to those goals. None of this "positive"/"negative" stuff--
I find this simply isn't a useful distinction. It is USEFUL to know
that discrimination exists, it is USEFUL to know where it exists, and
it is USEFUL to come up with plans which attempt to reduce this, and
hence increase the quality of life for all people. Which is not to
say that this is the end-all and be-all of gay life. Your other topics
are worth discussing, too. Start a new discussion if you like!
