I wasn't there, either.  Nor was I at Florida Presbyterian College (now known
as Eckerd) when the chapel was being finished.  Seems some rowdies heisted
a heifer (plastic, of course) from the front of a local dairy, painted it
gold (natch) and tied it to the newly affixed cross at the top of the chapel.
This was all well and good, but they threw the workmen's ladders into an
adjacent salt-water pond to hide them so nobody could remove the display
before the campus had had time to appreciate it.  Trouble was, salt water
eats aluminum up, so the lads had to shell out $$ to replace the ladders.
Ah, the good old days.
