[net.motss] Homosexuals as parents

lmf@drutx.UUCP (06/29/84)

This is in response to Paul Dubec's comments about the fact that
he hasn't seen many children in areas with a large gay population.

Many homosexual parents lose custody and visitation rights because
their ex-spouse or the courts find out they are gay. They want to
be involved parents and are not allowed to be.

Provincetown was probably a bad choice of examples because it is
predominately a vacation spot. Lots of parents take vacations without
their kids. In general it is probably difficult to tell if homosexuals
have children, because you obviously can't usually tell who's gay. In
fact a lot of people assume that people with children are heterosexual.
