Sexual Orientation or Sexual Preference?_______________________________________ I have one question for heterosexuals who think that homosexuality is a preference: Did you choose to be heterosexual? I know I never had a chance to choose my heterosexuality; it chose me. (-: Not that I'm complaining... :-) What makes y'all think that homosexuals *choose* their sexual orientation? <_Jym_> :::::::::::::::: Jym Dyer ::::' :: `:::: Nashua, New Hampshire ::' :: `:: :: :: :: DYER%VAXUUM.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA :: .::::. :: {allegra|decvax|ihnp4|ucbvax}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-vaxuum!dyer ::..:' :: `:..:: ::::. :: .:::: Statements made in this article are my own; they might not :::::::::::::::: reflect the views of |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| Equipment Corporation.

Responding to the question to the heterosexuals who think that sexuality is a preference: I did not choose it consciously either. But saying "it chose me" would be no more then a pun. Analysing my feelings on the subject I can fairly strongly claim that my heterosexuality is a well established habit - result of upbringing, and I now quite consciously prefer being straight. That means I would prefer it to being gay, cloning, laying eggs, mitosis, etc. as a convenience point. Little moral: when age of consent comes some people prefer to stay the way they were oriented :-).
