[net.motss] No Flames, Just Thunder in the Phone Lines

I Recieved the following message in my mail account about a week ago. I've
been thinking about posting this reply so here it is. I'm not trying to def-
end the Jason article but I'm curious (as a fairly new subscriber to net.motss)
about a couple of things.

>Hi Ray,

>Sorry to hear things aren't going so well. I'm not surprised you got roasted,
>although I don't think you deserved it. What with all the attacks from Arndt
>et. al. the past few months people get super sensitive. One good effect I
>noticed however was that we got off the religious kick for a couple of days
>when Jason came on the air. All to the good in my opinion. That's one reason
>(aside from my normal idle curiosity) why I wanted to see the postings for the
>last two days, to see if Brunsonites had returned. If it has the effect of
>annoying the religious right wing to the point of leaving discussion I'm in
>favor of it. Let's all post the most offensive leaping screaming faggot
>bad taste stereotype humor we can find, if it will keep the likes of Milo
>Medin out.

I've been following the daily postings by both factions; gay and right wing
hetero. I wonder why people like Arndt and Brunson have an interest in this
file in the first place. If I were a straight, fundamentalist, conservative,
survivalist type; this newsgroup would be the last place I would subscribe to
let alone post a note. I wonder if MR's Arndt and Brunson seek out gay bars on
Saturday nights to gawk and jeer at the clientel. There are plenty of straight
bars where they can ogle the *chicks* and holler "hey sit on my face BABYYY!"
I would think that the religeous zealots would be more at home on net.relig-
ion where they would at least be among others who share their beliefs. OH! i
almost forgot; part of their charter is to convert sinners. I have no ill feel-
ings toward Arndt but I'm glad Brunson is on the other end of the continent.
Maybe he'll disappear when they start up a net.soldier_of_fortune. I was under
the impression thet this newsgroup was mainly for gay people to meet and dis-
cuss issues that pertain to us; not a battlefiled.

I would also prefer this battlefield moved out of net.motss to another group.
