OOOOooopppps! Boston's mayor is *Raymond* Flynn. Kevin Flynn was a
jock I was in lust with back in highschool. I'm not even going to try
to figure out the significance in this slip-of-the-tongue.

I loved "Forgetting Elena", but it came off sounding like an English
major in heat (I'm an ex-English major; I have the same problem!).
The prose in "A Boy's Own Story" is clean and lean; I think this is
White's best book.

I'm just starting "The Family of Max Desir." Most people who have
read this book rave about it; however, it is *very* heavy.

For fun, it's hard to beat Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City"
series. I think that the last installment, "Babycakes", is his best.
In "Babycakes", for the first time, he attempts to write a "book,"
complete with themes, subthemes, non-overbearing imagery, and steady
character development. The topic of AIDS can sober anyone.

Anyone out there heard when we are going to be graced with a film
version of "Torch Song Trilogy"? I heard sometime in '86; is this
true?
