[net.motss] Delta agent and Hep B

Actually, there was a BIG outbreak of Delta-agent-virus-whatever potentiated
super Hepatitis B in Worcester, Mass. last year or so., and all the cases
there were intravenous drug users. I haven't been aware that this has
been a big problem in the gay community, not the least reason because
many gay men have been vaccinated against Hepatitis B. The vaccine
is safe, effective and, at least potentially, cheap, since most health
plans cover it and most community health centers make it available to the
uninsured for a modest fee.

I haven't heard of any gay hepatis B-delta cases, or any significant
outbreak beyond the Worcester area. I've read most of the newspaper
articles that have appeared on it over the last year or so: the cases
are confined to intravenous drug users & their spouses, lovers, etc.
It's a heterosexual "epidemic".
