The Gay and Lesbian Alliance at Stanford is trying to organize a semi-regular film series showing gay-themed (including Lesbian-themed) movies. I am asking if anyone out there has any advice on how to get hold of interesting movies, and in general running such a series. The main problem is a combination of limited time and money (and experience). Films where you can legally charge for admission have high rental costs, which would require a big publicity effort, and a high risk of losing a lot of money. So the best bet would seem to be to rent videos, and not charge admission. This keeps the whole operation low-key, both in terms of budget and man-power. The problem is that few rentals (even in the SF Bay Area) have many gay-themed videos, since most of them are fairly obscure (to the general audience). Any help would be welcome. I'll summarize any private mail I receive. --Per Bothner ARPA: Bothner@su-score UUCP: ...!{decwrl,ucbvax}!glacier!pescadero!bothner Bothner, Computer Science Dept, Stanford University, Stanford CA 94305
